September 21, 2016 Barry William Ault passed away at the age of 70 in Thunder Bay, Ontario.  Barry grew up in Pembroke and attended school at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks where he graduated with a degree in Physical Education.  He married Brynne in 1976; together they had two daughters, Sarah and Jenna.

Barry was a Physical Education teacher and coach at Huntsville High School for over 30 years, where he made life long friendships with many teachers and students.  Barry loved to educate and was passionate about helping everyone.  He was patient and kind.  Barry loved all sports and he made a big impact on all sporting communities he was involved with. He loved refereeing basketball and soccer.  Barry was an elite athlete and ran countless Ultra Marathons, Marathons, Half Marathons and Triathlons. He loved to run. 

Barry’s favorite pastimes during retirement were running, refereeing, golfing, line and trail dancing.  He also enjoyed Texas two step, waltz and cha cha. He loved to play Texas hold’em, along with traveling and spending time with his family. He and Brynne traveled the world together and he made everyone laugh that he met along the way. His laugh and smile were contagious. 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Brynne. Daughters Sarah (Kyle) and Jenna (Bob) and his granddaughter, Piper.  Brother Peter (Barbara) and sister Kathy (Duane) and many nieces and nephews and in‑laws.

A Celebration of Life will take place on October 30th at 3:00 p.m. at Running Aces Casino and Race Track, 15201 Zurich St, Columbus, MN 55025.   If you want to share a story and can’t attend the celebration, please submit the stories in the comment section below and we will read them for you.  For hotel information please contact the family.
