ODESSA – Michael Lynn French, 54, of Odessa, TX passed away on August 7, 2017. He was born in Odessa, TX on August 16, 1962 to Lee French and Shirley White French.

Mike was a successful businessman in the area. He always welcomed customers with a snack and a coke. He was a hard‑working man, and always put his family first. He enjoyed going on family lake trips, riding motorcycles, working with his hands, going to car races and refereeing football. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He never met a stranger and was always looking to make those around him happy or lend a helping hand. He never judged anyone based on their past, present, or future and taught his family to do the same. He was proud of his children, and always supported them through their life.

Mike made many friends in the world of football. He was very passionate about the sport and loved getting to be on the field officiating. He made good calls and bad calls, but he always kept his love for the game.

Mike is preceded in death by his father, Lee French and his mother, Shirley White French.

Mike is survived by two children, Jason French of Odessa and his wife Amber, and KaLee French of Canyon; and two step children, Justin Heard of Odessa and Braden Heard of Houston: two sisters, Stephanie Rivera and her husband Eddy of Odessa, and Coni Ulibarri and her husband Gene of California: four grandchildren, Trenton, Harlee, Gavin and Lyric. Mike loved and cherished many friends throughout the years and will be missed by all.
