Special guests at the Annual Meeting were Susan Elza, UIL Athletic Director, and NBA official, Jason Phillips. Dr. Elza brought the attendees up to date on UIL activities including the possibility of modifying the officials\' selection process for the UIL Championship games and finished up with a Q&A session responding to questions from our members.
Former SBOA/TASO and current NBA Official, Jason Phillips presented a video breakdown, walking the attendees through a series of actual on-court play situations. Jason also provided insight into his journey that lead from Texas junior high to the NBA. This is the second year that Jason has made a presentation at the TASO Annual Meeting and was also a presenter at OfficiateTexas. His willingness to "give-back" to the association where he started is much appreciated by TASO members. Pictured is Jason and members of the TASO Basketball Board of Directors.
