NON-TRADITIONAL GAME EQUIPMENT

It has been brought to our attention that there are teams utilizeing the piece of equipment pictured to the left during game play. Evidently the loop is strapped over one shoulder with the "ball" positioned under the opposite armpit to keep the batter\'s back elbow elevated.

Rule 1-8-1 states that "Non-traditional game equipment must be reviewed by the NFHS Softball Rules Committee before it will be permitted."  Therefore, the current ruling is that this equipment will not be allowed during game play

UIL has ruled that this device can be used in training/practice, but not in game play.
