UIL LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL APPROVES GAME/MATCH FEE INCREASE
At their October 21, 2019 meeting the UIL Legislative Council approved a TASO initiated game/match fee increase for Texas sports officials. Effective for the 2020‑2021 school year, officials will receive a $5 increase at every level, varsity, sub varsity, and junior/middle schools. Sub varsity Basketball game fees were also broken down based on the length of the quarters.
Additionally, the Athletic Committee referred to the Sports Official a proposal to consider another $5 increase for the 2021‑2022 school year and to create a long term plan for routine increases.
TASO has already started the process of collaborating with the UIL, the Texas High School Coaches Association, the Texas Girls Coaches Association and the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association so that all stakeholders will be unified in supporting a plan for the 2021‑2022 increase as well as the long term schedule for compensation increases.
