Red River Volleyball Chapter Conducts Officials Camp
The TASO Volleyball Red River Chapter in Sherman, Texas held its annual Official’s Camp August 1, 2015 at Pottsboro High School. This is the 3rd year the Chapter has held this event for training officials in a real set scenario, that includes ranking, mechanics, on court observation, and it keeps growing each year not only by new officials but also of school participation through there kids. There were 14 schools represented through there athletes that attended this year. Due to the amount of schools asking to attend there camp, they are now having to change venue’s next year to accommodate the requests for attendance next year, and possibly have to move the camp to a 2 day outing instead of 1. There is great support not only from schools as far away as 60 miles or more that attend, or wanting to attend, but they also have local business such as Brookshire’s Grocery Store who donate items from there store for a hospitality room for all the officials, and advertisement.
A big Thank You, goes out to all the schools who attended, Pottsboro High School for there facilities, Brookshire’s, Donut House, Wal‑Mart, and Sam’s, for all they done for us.
