TASO VOLLEYBALL HONORS DAVID PLAISANCE WITH 2020 DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD

David Plaisance was recently presented the TASO Volleyball Distinguished Service Award for 2020. David  has been a member of TASO and the Austin Chapter for 20 years.  He has dedicated much time and energy during these years to the sport of volleyball as an official.  David was equally enthusiastic in devoting that same time and energy to serve the Austin Chapter.

David truly loves the sport, watching his daughters play in their high school years as well as playing himself in an adult league.  He has excelled as an official, ranking among the top officials within the Austin Chapter.  He has been selected as an official in numerous post‑season playoff matches as well as Regional Tournaments over the past 20 years.  He was selected from the Austin Chapter to officiate the State tournament for three consecutive years.  David is also a member of USAV and PAVO.

In the Austin Chapter, David held the office of Vice President for two years while also being the Chapter Trainer during that time.  He served for a total of 7 years as the Chapter Trainer.  In that position, David spent extra time meeting with the new officials, including being available to the new members 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the regular chapter meetings.  This allowed David to present pertinent material and to answer questions.

For four years, David served as the District Director for TASO District 13.  He also served as the Recording Secretary for two years.

Congratulations to David Plaisance as the recipient of the 2020 Distinguished Service Member award.
