ROGER “PAPPY” HOPKINS
Roger (Pappy) Hopkins 55 of Vernon, Texas died on Tuesday, September
19, 2017, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Services will be Saturday, September 23,
2017 at 10:00 am at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Toby Castleberry
officiating. Interment will be held at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Roger was born Thursday, November 23, 1961 in Vernon, Texas;
he was the son of Roger Wayne Hopkins, Sr. and Jean Senter Hopkins. He married
Lana Miles on November 2, 1991 in Vernon. He was a graduate of Vernon High
School. He was also a sport official and referee for many years. He was a
member of North Texas Football Chapter, Wichita Falls Area Basketball Association;
Wichita Falls Umpires Association and the Texas Association of Sport Officials.
He was an avid Dallas Cowboy and Texas Ranger fan. He worked
as a Psychiatric Nurses Assistant III at North Texas State Hospital. He was a
member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving is his wife Lana of the home. son, Miles Hopkins
of Vernon, TX, daughter, Brittany Duncan & husband Dustin of Vernon, TX,
His parents Roger & Jean Hopkins of Vernon. Two brothers, Robbie Hopkins of
Butte, MT and Terry Hopkins of Vernon, TX.
He is preceded in death by his sister Pamela Conn March 16, 2000,
his grandparents Timothy Lee Hopkins and Lillian Thomas Hopkins, Richard Dow
Senter and Ava Mae Spears Senter.
Visitation will be Friday, September 22, 2017 at 5:00 to
6:00 pm
at Sullivan Funeral Home.
