Roy Nelson Moore

89, born January 22, 1922 in Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away in Houston
January 24, 2011. His wife of 65 years Thelma Baker Moore passed away in
2008.

He is survived by his son Tommy Moore and wife Jane of
Conroe, Grandson Geoffrey Thomas Moore and wife Chery of Spring,
Granddaughter Caroline Jane Moore Hobson and husband Michal of Conroe,
Great Granddaughter Emma Jane Hobson age 11, and many nieces, nephews,
cousins, neighbors and friends.

After graduating from Nacogdoches
High School in 1939 he attended Stephen F. Austin State University
before serving in the United States Army during World War II.

Roy
began a 40 year career in the Oil, Gas, and Mining Industry with Reed
Drilling Tool Company, now Baker Hughes. He served both the domestic and
international markets and was one of the first United States citizens
to travel into China.

He was a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason. A member
of the Grand Lodge of Texas for over 50 years and a Master Mason in the
S.P. Waltrip No. 1328 Lodge of Houston, Texas.

Music was always a
big part of his life. As a member of the Memorial Drive Christian
Church, he sang in the choir and directed a Gospel Singing Group with a
large outreach ministry.
