TASO introduces “stArt” program
The Texas Associations of Sports Officials has created a new program to recruit high school and college student athletes as sports officials.
STaRT (Students Today are Referees Tomorrow) is designed to show how student athletes can sTay involved in the game they love by becoming a sports official. In addition to targeting the students through their school and coaches, STaRT will also schedule meetings across Texas where the students can learn about officiating at the high school level from representatives of local chapters.
The Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) and the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association (THSADA) will assist TASO by introducing the STaRT program to thier seniors.
