TASO BASKETBALL WELCOMES NEW CHAPTER

The UIL Sports Officials Committee and TAPPS have approved the TASO Basketball CenTex Chapter to begin servicing schools for the 2023‑2024 season. CenTex is a new Chapter serving schools in the Williamson County area. “After meeting with the CenTex leadership, the TASO Basketball Board of Directors unanimously welcomed them to TASO Basketball and fully supported their application to the Sports Officiating Committee,” stated Calvin Harris, TASO Basketball President. “We are confident they will assist in mentoring and fostering new officials into the avocation, use their experience in the training of our current officiating ranks, and be an integral part of the future of officiating in support of Texas High School Basketball student athletes development.”

According to CenTex Chapter President Jearl Ledbetter, “The CenTex Basketball Officials Association (CTXBOA) is honored and excited to be a member of TASO. We are looking forward to servicing the players, coaches and schools in the rapidly growing greater Austin area.”

Michael Fitch, TASO Executive Director commented, “TASO appreciates the confidence in the TASO Basketball organization that the CenTex Chapter has demonstrated by choosing to become a part of the TASO family.
